Wet snow in the forecast for Hwy 1 between Revelstoke, Golden

BC is only a week and a half into fall but Environment Canada has issued one of the first special weather statements for a major highway in the Southern Interior.

The forecast is calling for five to 10 centimetres of wet snow along the Trans-Canada Highway.

Anyone travelling that section of highway can expect to see snow and possible slippery conditions between Eagle Pass and Rogers Pass.

“A low pressure system is bringing snow this morning. The snow will taper off to showers this evening as the cold front passes,” says Environment Canada.

The snow and/or rain is expected to end overnight.

People are advised to visit DriveBC for the latest on the road conditions.

Don’t forget that winter tires are required on most BC highways as of Tuesday.
