Cyclist taken to hospital after colliding with semi-truck in downtown Kelowna

The westbound lane on Harvey Avenue has been closed after a collision involving a cyclist this morning.

Kelowna RCMP said in a public bulletin that the cyclist, a man, has been taken to hospital.

He collided with a semi-truck near the intersection of Harvey Avenue and Water Street, Mounties said.

It happened at about 5:20 am.

Police said they are at the scene “awaiting the reconstructionist.”

“The incident is still under investigation and the west bound lane on Harvey Avenue is expected to be closed for sometime,” Sgt. Laura Pollock explained in the bulletin.

“Please plan for delays and or an alternate route.”
